Serpentseed & Stag
Creations of Flora, Fauna, and Folklore
Nymph Spring/Summer 2024 is almost here.
We warmly herald the arrival of the light season with a fresh collection of bone pyrography. In these pieces, delicate floral blossoms capture the essence of spring's beauty while seamlessly intertwining with the rawness of rebirth. Emblematic plant allies- lotus, rose, wisteria, pomegranate, stinging nettle, and foxglove- emerge as representatives of this transformative and fertile season. Each botanical motif becomes a tapestry of occult significance emblazoned on ethically foraged animal bone. The collection is named after the enchanting but often not harmless otherworldly spirits long associated with spring and florals; 'Nymph' invites you to step on the blossoming banks and inhale the intoxicating perfumes of spring. Launching exclusively April 27th at World Oddities Expo in Philadelphia.

Sara Buckley is the artist behind Serpentseed & Stag. Her work is largely inspired by the intersection between nature and ritual, and the spirits that dwell at that junction. She lives in Delaware with her cat, and plethora of reptiles. Her pockets are full of animal teeth.
The serpentseed doctrine is a fringe belief that Cain, the biblical first murderer, was not the child of Adam but a result of the union of Eve and the tempting serpent in the garden. The descendants of Cain are children of the serpent, carrying the spark of witchblood through countless generations. Cain is largely associated with horned beasts such as heavy antlered deer, and ascribed in some occult circles as the father of witches. The name Serpentseed & Stag pays homage to the lineage of exile and occultism of the serpentseed, and to the firstborn of witch blood, Cain the Stag King. The artist is a devotee of Cain al’ shajarat, the verdant Cain of green gnosis. This occult sub-current is the inspiration for our offerings and creations.
While white supremacists and religious zealots co-opted the doctrine in the 19th century, Serpentseed & Stag openly condemns intolerance, racism, and antisemitism. We hold no place for hate or intolerance.
