Hungry Forest - Spring 2023

Inspired by the mystery of Eastern deciduous forests, Hungry Forest explores the near-imperceptible blurring of natural and supernatural that occurs in the shadows of tulip poplars and poison ivy.

In this collection of works, there is a darker intimate narrative to the woods: one where wood nymphs and horned gods dance through the trees.

The juxtaposition of lush foliage, woodland animals not quite as you remember them , and contrast of light and shadow evoke an undercurrent of unease and mystery reminiscent of the unsettling quiet of the deep woods, on those occasions when you realize you aren't alone amongst the trees.
